East China's Shanghai will host the 2023 North Bund Forum on Sept 22-24 – a high-level event that will bring together experts and officials from the global shipping and aviation sectors.
The forum, being co-sponsored by the Ministry of Transport and the Shanghai municipal government, has the theme "Openness, Cooperation and Innovation: Co-building a New Landscape of Global Shipping & Aviation".
It aims to showcase the achievements and prospects of Shanghai's shipping development, promote the green and intelligent transformation of the shipping industry – and enhance the connectivity and cooperation of the global shipping network.
The forum will feature an opening ceremony and a main forum, two parallel forums – the International Shipping Forum and the International Aviation Forum – and six themed forums.
The International Aviation Forum is being jointly organized by the China Eastern Airlines Group and the Shanghai Airport ity.
Zhang Yongdong, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the Shanghai Airport ity, said the forum would focus on how to further improve the service level of Shanghai's international aviation hub.
Zhang said that Shanghai's air transport market had recovered well this year, with the passenger and cargo throughput at Pudong Airport and Hongqiao Airport reaching 75 percent and 93 percent of the pre-pandemic level, respectively.
